Casa California
is one of Oceanside Glasstile’s seven product lines of handcrafted artisan
glass and includes an extensive selection of field, liners, decos, and trim.
The new contoured pieces integrate organic and geometric designs that
interlock, creating striking feature walls or textured accents.
According to Feras Irikat, New Product Design Director,
“Inspiration for the new field pieces was eclectic, with both whimsical and
architectural influences: a flirtatious Blink of an eye, the rolling motion of
a wave (Onda in Spanish), the pleated look of the Japanese Obi, or the
intricate folded designs of Origami.”
“The new Casa California
pieces are especially effective when combined in an interplay of finishes. The
same piece in one color—our new Shadow, for example--but in multiple finishes
adds wonderful textured color in addition to the dimensionality of shape,”
Irikat continued.
New Casa California
dimensional field includes Blink (7 3/8” x 4”), Syncopation (4” x 4”), Lune (4”
x 4”) and Keystone (5” x 4”). Liners include Origami (2 ¼” x 7 7/8”), Onda (2
½” x 7 7/8”), Vapor (2 ½” x 7 7/8”), and Twin Peaks
(2” x 7 7/8”). Decos, (1 7/8” x 1 7/8”) are Eddy, Obi, Syncopation, and
Origami. All sizes are nominal.
A green building material, Oceanside Glasstile is made from
silica sand, an abundant natural resource, with many colors also containing
post-consumer recycled bottle glass and/or glass recycled from the company’s
manufacturing process. Each year the company uses over 2 million pounds of
glass from curbside recycling programs, turning waste that would otherwise end
up in landfills into beautiful and sustainable design materials.
