Hakatai glass mosaic tile was specified by Mather Architectural Design for a modern remodel of a mid-century home in Denver, Colorado. Built in 1956, the Jones residence had been abandoned for years and was in need of major restoration. Mather Architectural Design utilized 200 square feet of glass tile from Hakatai’s Classic series to modernize the master bathroom and create a feeling of open space. The glass tile was used on surfaces throughout the bathroom, including the jacuzzi bench and a custom vanity that serves as the centerpiece of the bath. Mather Architectural Design used unique color combinations throughout the house for a “retro-funky feel,” selecting the color Ice Purple from the Classic series to create a contrast with the gray-blue paint used for the walls and ceiling.

“I use Hakatai mosaic glass tiles in a lot of my projects,” said Wendy Mather, principal owner of Mather Architectural Design (www.matherarch.com). “They have affordable mosaics in all different colors and the customer service is great. Hakatai is always coming out with new colors and new styles of glass tile and the delivery is quick and accurate. I buy most of my mosaics through Hakatai because it’s easy and I love the custom blend tools.”

The Classic series of ¾” x ¾” glass mosaic tile from Hakatai is available in 43 solid colors, 27 standard blends, and five standard gradients. In addition, architects and designers can create their own unique custom blends and gradients at www.hakatai.com.
