Lyndhurst, NJ – In the green kitchen renovation episode of HGTV’s “Spice up my Kitchen” (episode 307, airdate April 1, 2008), Fagor Appliances are selected as the energy efficient appliances of choice.  The Fletcher’s family kitchen received an eco-friendly make-over resulting in a beautiful new kitchen that is also environmentally friendly.  The designer and host, Lauren Lake, selected the “greenest” products for this renovation project: the most efficient appliances, cork floor, recycled countertops, cherry cabinets, and recycled glass backsplash. Fagor’s 24” Energy Star rated dishwasher is equipped with an eco-sensor that monitors water quality and adjusts consumption accordingly saving up to 25% of water in each wash. The eco-sensor measures the level of soil in the wash water and fills the tub with fresh water only when it is necessary.  It helps to reduce water consumption, energy used to heat the water, and cycle time.  Not only are you cleaning your dishes but also you save money and time.  The alternating wash feature also optimizes water and energy consumption due to the sprinklers that work alternatively making it a much more efficient wash. The dual zone option allows you to choose the use of the upper rack, the lower rack or both at the same time.

The Aqua stop safety feature cuts the water supply if a leak is detected, handy for any kitchen. Additional features and controls include an a programmable time delay up to 19 hours, 8 wash cycles, ultra silent, adjustable top rack, an end-of-cycle signal, and a digital display.

The limited availability of kitchen space makes Fagor’s 24” size refrigerator a great fit. The stainless steel “slim” design enables the refrigerator to fit flush into a 24" deep installation cutout, allowing for uniform installation that integrated beautifully with cherry cabinetry. The designer took advantage of the side-by side option to offer the Fletchers 48” of refrigeration capacity.  The unit is also highly energy efficient because of its ability to evenly circulate air throughout due to its multi-vent panel system.  Additionally, the vacation setting allows you to set the refrigerator at 57° F preventing odor and bacteria while the freezer works at a normal setting.

An additional unique feature is the built-in BIO Filter that retains mold and bacteria from the circulating air, eliminating odors and preserving food fresh longer.  Along the same thought is the antibacterial drum, which prevents micro-bacteria from growing in the refrigerator.  The independent Multi Fresh and Double Fresh drawers allow for two unique temperature environments within the refrigerator, ideal for keeping vegetables crisp while meats and seafood are stored at their ideal level of moisture. Fagor’s exclusive No-Frost System drastically reduces the condensation level within the unit and eliminates the need for periodic de-frosting. The refrigerator coolant is earth friendly since it does not contribute to green house gases. 

Fagor Range Hoods sleek design and enduring brushed stainless steel finish is a great match for Lauren Lake’s design. The range hood is powerful, yet extremely quiet resulting in a cleaner and more pleasant atmosphere.  The electronic touch controls are easy to operate and clean.  Equipped with four speed settings and a ten-minute delay feature, the Fagor hood offers the Fletcher family a great deal of convenience.  The filters are easily removable, and dishwasher safe.  Cleaning is an easy chore due to the straight stylized design and seamless corners.
